WANT TO KEEP FIT WHILE CLEANING THE BEACH? RUN-REACH-BIN!

logomarca_verso_pro_site_jpgCome down and start making your move on the world! Becoming a part of the Coast Monkey group will help you maintain your fitness whilst restoring environmental quality.

Also if your a runner just wanting to keep motivated and gain results then this is still the group for you. It is estimated, by industry experts, that running on the sand whilst consistently bending over, will burn twice the calories rather then running with out doing so. Their is no objection to joining in for a few hundred meter's then continuing your run else where. So no excuses!

The goal is as the coast monkey numbers increase the waste along the shore decreases, not only from our cleaning but also from the perpetrators themselves. We hope to create a large enough membership base that we can push for improved waste conditions around the shore-fronts and communities in general. Hopefully one day people will go to the beach and not have to trample on someone else's dirty rubbish!

The group has unlimited benefits, a couple for example:

  1. Maintain your fitness
  2. Clean our bay
  3. Socialize in a positive group
  4. Make an impact on society
  5. Improve your health

Remember its not just about being a hippie and as some would say 'saving the planet man' its also a group dedicated to keeping fit and contributing to a sustainable community. If you are a regular jogger on Beach Road then please don't hesitate to join in. It's so easy and you'll find that it's a motivating, vibrant and dedicated group. Not only will you be networking with like-minded people it will also help push your self those extra yards!

In the group there is also a qualified personal trainer and a certified first aid member.

Safety is our number one priority. In order to maximise safety these things should be considered when Coast Monkeying:

• Avoid picking up sharp objects (Broken glass, Needles etc.)
• Avoid picking up hazardous substances (Acid/Chemical containers)
• Maintain composure and run at a comfortable pace whilst picking up rubbish
• Run at a pace that you feel comfortable with and know you can manage
• Be cautious of muscle strains - Hold back from rapid movements and bending if experiencing pain
